This issue features research papers that explore various multi-disciplinary topics including biodegradation, human-animal relationships in Indian epics, sociological studies, and engineering educational policies.
Plastics have revolutionized industries such as electronics, packaging, healthcare, and transportation due to their affordability, adaptability, and durability. However, their environmental persistence has led to severe pollution, posing significant threats to ecosystems and human health. Conventional disposal methods, including recycling, incineration, and landfilling, are inadequate in addressing plastic waste accumulation. Microbial biodegradation uses bacteria to break down plastic with microplastic acting as surface for microbial growth, forming the “plastisphere”. In this study, Bacillus spp. Were used to examine the Polythene degradation. The degradation assessed by viable cell count, cell density, weight loss and microscopy. Over 4 isolate the C4 show highest degradation of 0.55% and microscopy show the crack, pits and roughness on the Polythene that exposed to the microorganisms. Further research needed to examine which enzyme can be involved in the degradation
Though there are in number of studies are available in the area of anthropocene, this present study tries to depict a new angle with regard to human animal relationships in the hindu scriptures – the Mahabharata and the Ramayana using the theory of Animal studies and the the discourse of anthropocentricism. The above said two epics steeped in Indian or Hindu cosmology, where human, animal and nature coexist interdependently. An outlook that is sharply different from the human centric dogma in the anthropocene. A few characters from the epics like Hanuman, Jatayu and Garuda and the Nagas represent agency and moral complexity that shows how ancient Indian philosophy acknowledges the consciousness of and spiritual values of nonhumans. The research article shows how the epics anticipate modern debates around species equality, Eco ethics, and coexistence through posthumanist and ecological lenses. The discussion in the article identifies the Indian philosophy presents a sustainable and equitable model of relational ethics that can guide contemporary ecological awareness. This research paper also contends that going back to these epic stories contain significant lessons for re-envisioning human-animal relationship in the Anthropocene by refiguring out the mythological insight with twenty-first-century environmental concept.
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the nature of work, employment structures, and labour relations across the globe. This sociological study examines the implications of AI-driven technologies on the future of employment, focusing on structural changes, social inequality, skill transformation, and labour market stratification. Drawing upon theoretical perspectives such as Karl Marx’s analysis of technological change and labour alienation, Max Weber’s concept of rationalization, and Emile Durkheim’s theory of division of labour, the study situates AI within broader processes of modernization and capitalism. It explores how automation, machine learning, and algorithmic management are reshaping occupational roles, leading to job displacement in routine and low-skilled sectors while simultaneously generating new opportunities in high-skilled and digital domains. The article highlights the emergence of a polarized labour market characterized by the growth of precarious gig work and the increasing demand for advanced technological competencies. It critically analyses how AI may reinforce existing social inequalities based on class, gender, and educational access, particularly in developing economies. Furthermore, the study addresses the transformation of workplace authority through algorithmic surveillance and performance monitoring, raising concerns about autonomy, dignity, and workers’ rights. Using secondary data, policy reports, and sociological literature, this research argues that the impact of AI on employment is not technologically deterministic but socially constructed and mediated by institutional frameworks, state policies, and educational systems. The study concludes that proactive policy interventions, inclusive skill development strategies, and ethical governance frameworks are essential to ensure that AI contributes to equitable and sustainable employment futures rather than deepening socio-economic disparities.
Sustainable development has become a critical concern for organizations operating in the global business environment. Increasing environmental challenges, social expectations, and regulatory pressures require organizations to integrate sustainability into their strategic and operational practices. Human Resource Management plays a crucial role in this transformation because employees are central to the implementation of sustainability initiatives. The present study investigates the influence of sustainable Human Resource Management practices on organizational sustainability in global organizations. The research focuses on four key Human Resource practices, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and employee wellbeing initiatives. A quantitative research design was adopted and data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered to employees working in multinational organizations. A total of 180 valid responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The findings indicate that sustainable Human Resource Management practices significantly contribute to organizational sustainability across economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Training and development and employee wellbeing practices demonstrate a stronger influence on sustainability outcomes. The study highlights the strategic role of Human Resource Management in supporting sustainable organizational development and provides practical implications for managers and policy makers seeking to strengthen sustainability initiatives.
Marriage has traditionally been considered a fundamental social institution that regulates family life, social relationships and cultural continuity. However, rapid social change, modernization, higher education, urbanization and globalization have significantly influenced the attitudes of the younger generation towards marriage. This research article presents a sociological analysis of the attitudes of young people towards marriage in contemporary society. The main objective of the study is to understand how young people interpret the meaning, importance and expectations of marriage, as well as the factors influencing their attitudes towards marital relations. This study adopts a sociological research approach using a structured questionnaire and interview method to collect data from young respondents from diverse socio-economic and educational backgrounds. Both quantitative and qualitative techniques are used to analyze the data related to age of marriage choice, choice of spouse, career priorities and expectations of married life. The findings show that while marriage is valued as an important social institution, the younger generation is increasingly placing emphasis on personal choice, emotional compatibility, gender equality, and financial stability before marriage. The study concluded that the perception of marriage among young people is gradually shifting from traditional norms to more individualistic and egalitarian values.
This article examines the intersection of print culture, associational life, and gendered political articulation in the Bombay Presidency from 1910 to 1942. Traditional historical narratives of late colonial India have frequently subsumed women’s political participation under the broader rubric of anti-colonial nationalism, often framing women’s entry into public life as a byproduct of nationalist mobilization. Conversely, subaltern and gender histories have highlighted women’s agency but have left the specific structural mechanisms of their political articulation—namely, the discursive space of print—underexplored. Drawing on interdisciplinary methodologies from history, gender studies, media studies, and political theory, this study investigates how early twentieth-century women’s organizations, such as the Bombay Presidency Women’s Council (BPWC) and regional branches of the All India Women’s Conference (AIWC), strategically utilized burgeoning regional and English-language print networks. By analyzing organizational reports, petitions, journals, and legislative debates, the article argues that these organizations constructed a robust, gendered “counter-public.” This feminist public sphere allowed Indian women to transcend their nineteenth-century roles as passive subjects of male-led social reform. Instead, they emerged as active political agents who critically reshaped the discourse of colonial citizenship. In doing so, they formulated an autonomous political vocabulary that challenged both the patriarchal paradigms of the nationalist script and the paternalistic frameworks of the British imperial state. Ultimately, the article demonstrates that the political awakening of women in western India was not merely an auxiliary to the nationalist movement, but a distinct, textually mediated process of claiming space within a highly contested colonial modernity.
The rapid development of the Cryptocurrency and Financial Technology (FinTech) altered the financial aspects in India with its prospects and regulatory issues. The problem of robust legal and policy framework is gaining even more acuity with the advent of the popularity of digital assets and decentralised financial systems. The paper will explain why the cryptocurrency and FinTech regulatory environment in India has been changing in the context of interaction between innovation, consumer protection, and financial stability. It explores the intent of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the initiatives of the legislative actions to trade off the risk mitigation with the technological development. The research also compares regulatory models across world in an attempt to realise the best practises that can be used within the Indian setting. The research indicates that adaptive mechanisms of governance should exist by finding out how the new technologies will transform the monetary policy, taxation, and cybersecurity. The outcomes give a good focus on the necessity to have a consistent legal system which is innovation-friendly, but which improves transparency, accountability and investor confidence in the digital financial ecosystem.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 envisions a paradigm shift in Indian higher education, promoting flexibility, interdisciplinarity, and learner-centric approaches. Despite its progressive framework, engineering education faces several barriers that hinder effective implementation. This paper critically examines systemic and pedagogical challenges impeding the realization of NEP 2020 within technical institutions. Central to these issues are rigidity in course delivery and semester-based time constraints, which restrict innovation and limit opportunities for holistic learning. Credit mobility remains constrained by incompatible frameworks across universities, while the rigidity of disciplinary structures undermines interdisciplinarity. Furthermore, the operationalization of the Academic Credit Bank faces practical challenges, including misalignment in evaluation standards and lack of institutional readiness. Resistance from faculty, rooted in entrenched pedagogical practices and apprehension toward change, further complicates reforms. The demand for a pedagogical shift toward outcome-based and technology-enabled teaching underscores the urgency of sustained faculty development initiatives. Without adequate training and support systems, educators remain unequipped to align with NEP’s vision. The study argues that addressing these barriers requires systemic reform, capacity building, and the development of robust frameworks for credit mobility and interdisciplinarity. Strengthening faculty development and pedagogical innovation is critical to ensuring the transformative potential of NEP 2020 in engineering education.
Protest is widely regarded as a corrective mechanism within democratic systems, yet the democratic consequences of protest success remain insufficiently theorized. Existing scholarship often equates success with policy attainment, implicitly assuming that state concession signals democratic deepening. This article challenges that assumption by reconceptualizing protest success as a temporal trajectory rather than a discrete outcome. It asks: When does protest success deepen democracy, and when does it merely produce temporary closure? Drawing on a qualitative, structured comparison of three major protest episodes in India—the Nirbhaya protests (2012–2013), the India Against Corruption movement (2011–2014), and the Farmers’ Protest (2020–2024)- the study develops the concept of success–closure dynamics. The analysis identifies three post-concession trajectories: democratic closure, democratic absorption, and democratic recurrence. Although each case achieved formal state concession through legislative amendment, institutional creation, or policy repeal, the depth and durability of democratic transformation varied substantially. The findings demonstrate that protest success stabilizes democratic legitimacy in the short term but deepens democracy only when concession restructures accountability mechanisms, expands representation, or institutionalizes participatory access. By integrating democratic theory with protest outcome scholarship, this article advances a framework for evaluating the democratic quality of contentious politics beyond policy attainment, offering a more nuanced understanding of responsiveness and institutional change in democratic settings.
Bhartṛhari's doctrine of Śabdādvaita as explained in the Vākyapadīya is a distinctive linguistic ontological doctrine which states the non-duality of word (śabda), meaning (artha) and consciousness. These three are identified as śabda-brahman in a unitary principle. Bhartṛhari's ontology does not consider language as representational but rather understands linguistic manifestation as constitutive of reality itself. The paper contends that, even though Śabdādvaita is indeed metaphysically distinct, it is structurally similar to the twentieth-century key developments in the philosophy of language, especially those which challenge representationalism and emphasizes on the world-disclosing function of language. Through a comparative analysis of Bhartṛhari's sphoṭa theory and the ideas of Heidegger about language as the "house of Being", Wittgenstein's meaning as use, and Derrida's notion of différance, the study outlines similarities and differences between these thinkers around the concepts of meaning, temporality and relationality. While many Western thinkers remain trapped in the hermeneutic or deconstructive model; Bhartṛhari unfolds a non-dualist metaphysical theory where linguistic cognition and ontological existence are inseparable. The paper also explores how Śabdādvaita conceptually anticipates contemporary discussions in cognitive linguistics, semiotics and the philosophy of mind on language as constructing reality which shapes perception rather than only encoding pre-given realities. This paper shows that by situating Bhartṛhari within these interdisciplinary conversations without collapsing theoretical distinctions it can be demonstrated that Śabdādvaita offers a philosophically robust model for understanding the co emergence of language, consciousness and the world.
The paper provides has only considered educational, economic, physical and mental problems. In addition, research can also be conducted on other problems such as their intellectual problems and social problems.Apart from secondary, research can also be done on the problems of students pursuing higher secondary and higher studies. The problems faced by students studying in English medium schools can also be studied. In the present paper, the variables taken are caste, area and standard. This study examines the relationship between financial literacy and financial anxiety among residents of major Indian metropolitan cities. Rapid urbanization, increasing access to financial products, and changing household financial responsibilities have heightened the importance of financial literacy. Using a quantitative research design, the study evaluates how knowledge of budgeting, savings, investments, credit management, and risk diversification influences individuals’ financial anxiety. The findings indicate a significant negative relationship between financial literacy and financial anxiety, suggesting that financially literate individuals experience lower stress and demonstrate more confident financial decision-making. The study contributes to the growing literature on personal finance and offers implications for policymakers, educators, and financial institutions.
This work has an elaborate comparative study of political participation/voter behaviour of last three electoral cycles of Anand Vidhan Sabha constituency which has 112 constituencies. It looks at the role of changing socio-economic condition, demographic changes and political shifts in the political participation form and level of participation by voters. Utilizing mixed-method approach involving a combination of the statistical data, field surveys and electoral records, the research studies the differences in the voter turnout, performance of the political parties and changing strength of caste, class, gender and age in shaping electoral preferences. The thesis also provides a description of the increasing importance of digital campaigning, social media outreach and issues based mobilization in the development of modern political behaviour. Comparing trends among three elections some of the following trends can be observed: "A clear movement away from conventional patterns of identity based voting to a more informed, performance based and participatory democratic culture can be observed in the paper." It foregrounds the current problems in local governance issues concerning the credibility of candidate and development agenda all became decisive features in voter choice of leaders in the political system. The results are a mark of growing political consciousness of youth and women in the group which is a manifestation of a transformation of India's democratic ethos. Ultimately, this study does contribute to understand the political behaviour, in a regional context, reflects the national democratic evolution, and useful insights in particular about its growing evolving dynamics of electoral participation, in semi-urban India.
This essay examines the philosophical tension between hard determinism and the foundational assumptions of criminal responsibility in modern law. The study employs a doctrinal and philosophical methodology, drawing on legal cases, neuroscientific findings, and theories of moral responsibility to analyse whether retributive punishment remains justifiable if human actions are wholly caused by prior events and natural laws. Key findings indicate that determinism fundamentally destabilises retributive justifications of criminal punishment by undermining the moral basis of blame and desert. Evidence from case law—particularly R v Byrne—and developments in neuroscience and preventive detention reveal that contemporary criminal justice systems are already, implicitly, shifting toward consequentialist and risk-management models. The essay concludes that while hard incompatibilism renders retribution philosophically indefensible, compatibilist accounts preserve a functional conception of responsibility grounded in rational capacity and social practice. Criminal law must acknowledge causal realities shaping human behaviour without abandoning the moral language on which justice depends. The practical implication is that sentencing frameworks should balance prospective risk assessment with safeguards against dehumanisation and systemic bias.
This study focuses on how climate catastrophes contribute to an impact in gender-based violence among women, with emphasis on regions where climate disasters are recurrent. It specifically examines flood-prone regions such as Bangladesh, where heavy rainfall and flooding cause massive displacement and forces women to seek refuge in overcrowded camps within inadequate sanitation or resources. The study considers how the social, economic, and political role of women, along with limited access to critical services, financial security, and decision-making, increases their vulnerability. It also focuses on the role of social and legal frameworks in disaster prone regions that ensure the protection of women and girls and address gender-based violence. The objective of this paper is to examine the ways in which climate catastrophe impacts gender-based violence against women with special emphasis on Bangladesh. Climate change amplifies existing gender inequalities and disproportionately impacts women and girls. The lower socioeconomic status of women and girls prevents them from recovering and coping with frequent climate disasters. Women are structurally placed in roles within the household and community that heighten their level of vulnerability during climate disasters. Discriminatory cultural norms increase women's exposure to higher risks of gender-based violence. In regions where climate disasters are recurrent, existing gender inequalities are intensified, increasing women’s vulnerability significantly. In states such as Bangladesh, climate disaster such as floods are an yearly occurrence. Bangladesh has extremely flood-prone geography forcing them to face the brunt of global climate change. Heavy rainfall and flooding cause massive displacement of people, forcing women to seek refuge in overcrowded camps within inadequate sanitation or resources. Bangladeshi women are particularly susceptible to climate change due to their social, economic, and political role in society. Limited access to critical services and facilities, lack of access to financial security, limited access to decision-making roles causes women to be increasingly vulnerable. Ensuring gender sensitive response in disaster risk reduction requires adequate social and legal tools. Proper social and legal frameworks allow the upliftment of women in times of crisis and prevent increased vulnerability and cases of gender-based violence. This paper will examine the frameworks and institutions present in disaster prone regions that specifically ensure the protection of women and girls. Adequate frameworks that help ensure continuation of education of girls to secure their future, prevention of gender- based violence among women and reducing vulnerabilities of women during climate catastrophes are necessary to reduce structural inequalities present in our society.
This paper examines the structural gap between legal validity and substantive justice within the Indian constitutional framework, focusing on landmark Supreme Court decisions as interpretive sites where justice is made or unmade. The study employs doctrinal and analytical legal research methodology, engaging in close reading of constitutional provisions and judicial decisions as interpretive texts rather than merely examining their outcomes. Cases were selected based on constitutional significance, demonstrable tension between procedural legality and substantive justice, and longitudinal jurisprudential influence. Key findings reveal that the gap between law and justice widens under three structural conditions: linguistic indeterminacy in constitutional language, institutional constraints during political crises, and social and structural inequality that renders formal rights practically inaccessible. The comparative analysis of ADM Jabalpur v. Shivkant Shukla (1976) and Maneka Gandhi v. Union of India (1978) demonstrates that the same constitutional text, unmodified, produced diametrically opposed outcomes within two years – a difference attributable solely to judicial interpretive philosophy. The paper concludes that law contains no internal mechanism guaranteeing just outcomes; the guarantee, where it exists, lies in the quality of interpretation and the transparency of interpretive reasoning. Practical implications include the need for constitutional reform that acknowledges interpretive contingency, demands greater judicial accountability, and addresses structural inequalities – particularly India's undertrial crisis, in which 77% of prisoners are unconvicted – that render formal rights meaningless for the majority of citizens.
Rapid technological advancements have fundamentally transformed accounting systems and financial reporting practices. Among these innovations, cloud accounting has emerged as a strategic solution that enables organizations to manage financial information through internet-based platforms. Unlike conventional accounting systems, cloud-based applications facilitate real-time access to financial data, automate routine accounting processes, improve collaboration among stakeholders, and enhance the overall quality of financial reporting. he present study explores the significance of cloud accounting in reshaping financial reporting practices within modern business organizations. The paper examines the concept, key features, advantages, implementation challenges, and future prospects of cloud accounting. The research adopts a descriptive and conceptual approach based exclusively on secondary data collected from academic journals, books, professional reports, and authenticated online publications. The study indicates that cloud accounting contributes significantly to operational efficiency, financial transparency, regulatory compliance, and timely managerial decision-making. The integration of automation, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing has improved the reliability and accessibility of financial information while reducing operational costs. Nevertheless, organizations continue to face challenges relating to cybersecurity, data privacy, internet dependence, employee competency, and regulatory compliance. The study concludes that successful adoption of cloud accounting requires robust security mechanisms, continuous technological training, and effective organizational change management. As digital transformation accelerates across industries, cloud accounting is expected to become a fundamental component of modern financial reporting and strategic financial management.
The introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in India represents one of the most significant tax reforms in the country’s economic history. GST replaced multiple indirect taxes with a unified tax structure and introduced a technology-driven taxation system through the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN). The GST regime integrates several digital mechanisms such as online registration, return filing, e-invoicing, e-way bills, and digital tax payments, which contribute to improving tax compliance and transparency. The present study examines the role of GST in enhancing ease of doing business in India through digital transformation of taxation. The study is based on secondary data collected from government reports, research journals, and policy documents. Statistical techniques such as reliability analysis, factor analysis, ANOVA, chi-square test, and regression analysis have been used to evaluate the relationship between digital GST mechanisms and ease of doing business. The findings reveal that digital GST systems have simplified taxation procedures, reduced compliance burden, and facilitated interstate trade. However, challenges such as technological barriers and procedural complexities still exist. The study concludes that GST has significantly improved the business environment in India by promoting transparency and efficiency in tax administration.
The nursing profession occupies a unique position within global labor markets as one of the most feminized yet professionally indispensable sectors of healthcare. Despite women constituting the majority of the nursing workforce, men who enter the profession often experience accelerated career mobility, disproportionate access to leadership roles, and increased institutional visibility. This phenomenon, conceptualized as the glass escalator effect, reveals an often-overlooked dimension of gender inequality. This paper critically explores the glass escalator effect in nursing through a global sociological lens, with a focused examination of the Indian healthcare system. By integrating sociological theory, international literature, workforce data, and qualitative insights, the study demonstrates how gendered cultural norms, organizational practices, and professional hierarchies collectively facilitate men’s rapid advancement. The paper argues that while male nurses may encounter social stigma at entry, institutional structures frequently compensate by privileging their upward mobility. Addressing these dynamics is essential for achieving substantive gender equity within healthcare professions.
